As a result of our industry-wide reputation as a leading high-quality manufacturer of mass transit components, a contract to completely overhaul several components on the Bay Area Rapid Transit System (San Francisco, CA, USA) was awarded to us in 1996.

As a result, Gupta Permold was able to set-up shop in Pittsburg, CA (not a mistake!) and launch many world-class operations. Currently, Gupta Permold is working in tandem with other companies to see the project to its completion which involves the complete, non-destructive overhaul of hundreds of cars.

Although the project is very demanding, Gupta Permold's trained technicians and labor are on the job seeing that not one quality requirement is overlooked.

Compressed air is commonly used in mass transit vehicles for operating pneumatic controls for doors, shafts, suspension, etc. Thus, these refurbished tanks must be of premium quality. Consequently, they undergo rigorous hydrostatic testing prior to shipment.
One would think a rehab operation for passenger car seats would be quite elementary. However that is hardly the case. At Gupta Permold's Bart Rehab Division, old passenger car seat cushions are ripped off and discarded. Then, the seat frame is thoroughly cleaned and reconditioned to meet specification. As a final step, new cushions and other finishing are added and installed to complete the seat.
