The traction gear units manufactured by Gupta Permold are another very key part of the mass transit propulsion system. Under the most severe conditions and loadings, they must constantly transmit power smoothly from the motor to the axle of the vehicle at low and high speeds. The only way to make such units is to undertake the highest level of quality control at every stage of the production process.

Quills and gears of all shapes and sizes (traditional, right-angle, etc.) are carefully assembled to ultra-tight tolerances. Assembly procedures often involve shrink-fitting, conduction heating, and other advanced techniques to ensure high performance.
After the subassemblies are made, they are precision-fitted into sturdy gear boxes and filled with lubrication. They are then run at appropriate speeds and tested for heating, speed, noise, vibration, and performance according to customer standards.
The gear units are then fully assembled and painted by our skilled paint crew. As always, each individual traction gear unit is 100% performance tested prior to shipping by our skilled quality assurance team.
